This October, Karsh will be filming for The Dewarists, a part music documentary part travelogue TV show that will feature interesting collaborations and great new music. Other artists on The Dewarists include Imogen Heap, Vishal Dadlani and Zeb and Haniya.
The Parish (Austin, Texas) hosted a very successful collection drive – both musically and philanthropically as Karsh Kale headlined the Bassic Needs Food Drive along with Ntropy and Phutureprimitive to raise supplies for wildfire victims in Central Texas.
Karsh Kale’s remix of Tony Grey’s track, ‘Say What You Mean’ features mandolin maestro U Srinivas and percussionist V. Selvaganesh. The remix will appear as a bonus track on Grey’s upcoming album ‘Unknown Angels.’
World-renowned Indian Classical musician, Pandit Ravi Shankar included Karsh Kale’s track ‘Avalanche’ from his latest album Cinema, in his playlist in UK’s Songlines Magazine. The playlist also featured artists like Anoushka Shankar, Nitin Sawhney and Philip Glass.
Karsh Kale’s album ‘Cinema’ finds itself featured on L.A. radio station KCRW’s Song of the Day. ‘Joy’ was written after Karsh’s experience at Burning Man – an annual art event and temporary community that promotes radical self-expression in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert.
Soundtrack is a first for Midival Punditz-Karsh Kale (MPKK) as music directors for a Bollywood film. The film’s music was released on 23rd August and the response has been more than favourable as critics immediately took to MPKK’s newest avatar.
World renowned DJ Cheb I Sabbah’s tribute album will feature a track by Karsh Kale, Nitin Sawhney and Natacha Atlas. The track promises a fusion of Spanish Flamenco, Marathi Lavani style percussion and Atlas’ neo-Middle Eastern sound.
Karsh Kale, performing with the Cinema Live ensemble, opens for Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman. ‘Journey to India with A.R. Rahman and the Los Angeles Philharmonic’ takes place at the Hollywood Bowl in LA on the 10th of July, 2011.
